Carbon and climate

Better waste management can create measurable climate value.

Suitable biomass converted through controlled processes such as pyrolysis can create stable carbon-rich material. Measurement is part of the infrastructure, not an afterthought.

Our position

Careful claims, measured operations.

Where projects meet applicable standards and methodologies, OKIN intends to quantify and monetize eligible carbon-removal outcomes.

We do not publish tonnage claims, credit volumes or removal figures before they are measured and verified. Any carbon value realised depends on feedstock, process performance, applicable methodology and market conditions.

Measurement chain

  1. Waste input measurement

    Mass, moisture, composition

  2. Process monitoring

    Operating conditions and throughput

  3. Output characterisation

    Biochar quantity and properties

  4. Data reporting

    Operational and environmental records

  5. Verification pathway

Where projects qualify under applicable standards

What this means for a processor

Environmental performance you can evidence.

Processors increasingly need defensible data about how their residues are handled. The same instrumentation that runs the asset produces that record.

Waste diversion records

Documented volumes processed rather than stockpiled, burned in the open or dumped.

Operational transparency

Shared reporting on throughput, uptime and outputs from the installed system.

Optional carbon pathway

Where a project qualifies, OKIN pursues verification and shares the resulting economics as agreed.
